Vietnam Film Fest features blossom of Vietnam cinema industry in recent years

16 feature films competing awards in the 21st Việt Nam Film Festival clearly reflected the development of Vietnam cinema in recent years.

The first feature of the development is the diversity of filmmakers, including state-owned enterprises, army studios and private studios. 16 films competed in various genres, from comedies, feature films, documentaries, scientific films and animation. Stories of these films also are very different, from love, friendship, family relations to post-war situations.

The entries also show unique perspectives those are close to taste of audience. 3 films, among 5 highest-grossing films of all time in Vietnam films until now, compete this year Festival: Hai Phuong (Furie) (turnover of VND 200 billion), Cua lại vợ bầu (191,8 billion VND) and Lat mat: Nha co khach (117.5 billion). The move reflects the excitement of Vietnam film industry in recent time, especially in 2019 - an enormously successful year for sales of Vietnamese films.
